How the Odds Are Worked Out

The calculator deals the rest of the board in every way that it can come. On each board, it finds the best five cards of each hand and compares the hands.

Before the flop, two hands have 1,712,304 possible boards. After the flop, they have 990. After the turn, they have 44.

The calculator counts every one of these boards. Its figures are exact, and they are the same each time.

Some calculators deal a large number of random boards instead. This is a simulation. Its figures are close to the exact figures, but they change a little each time.

Win, Tie and Share of the Pot

Win is the part of the boards on which the hand alone has the best hand. Tie is the part on which it has the best hand together with one or more other hands. These hands split the pot.

Share of the Pot adds the wins and an equal part of each tie. The shares of all the hands add up to 100%.

When the board has three cards or more, each hand also shows its made hand, for example Two Pair. This is the best five cards of the hand and the board now.

The figures assume that no hand folds before the river. They do not include the betting, and they do not tell a player what to do.

Known Figures Before the Flop
