Guide
Make an Event That Needs a Join Code
A join code is a word or a number that a player must type to sign up for an event. Use it for an event that only some players can play, for example a final for the players who qualified from a league.
What a Join Code Does
- An event can have its own code. A player must type it to sign up for the event on the Events page.
- The club gives the code to the players who can play, for example the players who qualified from a league.
- Capital and small letters are the same, and spaces do not count. A wrong code signs up nobody.
- The code does not decide who plays. The desk still approves each player when they arrive.
Switch On Join Codes for Your Club
- Open Club Settings. Then open the Features page.
- Under Join Codes for Events, turn on Use Join Codes in This Club.
Join codes are off until the owner or a director switches them on. Only the owner and the directors can set the code of an event.

What the Player Sees
- The player opens Events and presses Sign Up on the event.
- PokerSjef asks for the join code.
- The player types the code and presses Sign Up.
- The Events page does not show which events need a code. PokerSjef asks for the code only when the player presses Sign Up.
- When the code is wrong, PokerSjef says so and signs up nobody.
- When the event is full, the player goes on the waiting list, as for any other event.
Type the Join Code
This event needs a join code. Type the code that the club gave you.
Ways onto the List Without the Code
- The invite link and the QR code of the event sign up a player without the code. The invite card on the Registration tab also shows the code.
- So share the invite link only with the players who can play. If it reached the wrong people, press Make a New Invite Link. The old link stops working at once.
- The desk can add any player, with or without an account.
| Way onto the List | Join Code |
|---|---|
| The player presses Sign Up on the Events page. | Needed |
| The player opens the invite link or scans its QR code. | Not needed |
| The desk adds the player. | Not needed |
Good to Know
- When you switch join codes off for the club, no event asks for its code. The codes stay, and they work again when you switch join codes on.
- The audit log shows who changed the code of an event, and when. It never shows the code.
- The club code, the join link and the poster let a person join your club. A join code lets a member sign up for one event.
- Today’s Code of Sit & Go is a different code. It lets a player join a Sit & Go list.
A join code is not a password. A player can give it to a friend. At the desk, make sure that each player can play.
