One Clock for the Room, Every Table on Its Own Game

PokerSjef runs a live poker event from the first level to the final table: the clock, the seating, the money and the league. It is for a room with real chips and a floor person.

It works for a club with a season and a hundred members. It also works for six friends at a kitchen table.

  • Based in Norway
  • In English and Norwegian
  • On phones, laptops and big screens
  • Nothing to install

PokerSjef is free for every club until 1 January 2027.

After that, PokerSjef becomes a subscription service. The prices come later. PokerSjef tells every club the prices before it asks for a payment. About the Prices

The room clock of a mixed-game event on a big screen. It shows the time left in the level, and the game and its amounts at each table.
A dealer’s phone, held sideways at Table 3. It shows the time left, FL Seven-card stud with its amounts, and the button Next Game, Orbit Complete.

The room clock and every phone show the same level, to the second.

From the First Level to the Final Table

How an Event Runs

Everybody works in the same event at the same time. The director uses a laptop, the Floor works at the desk, the dealers work at the tables, and the players use their phones.

  1. Create the event and its structure. You can also start from a template that you saved.
  2. Players sign up in advance or during late entry, and check in from their phone. The desk approves each player and gives a seat.
  3. The room clock shows the levels and the time on a big screen. Dealers advance their own table’s game.
  4. The Floor balances and closes tables as the field shrinks. The final table forms at the lowest table.
  5. The standings change as each player busts out. The director then finalizes the result.

What Makes PokerSjef Different

Mixed Games, Properly

All the tables play the same level, on one clock. Each table plays its own game, and the dealer moves the table to the next game after an orbit. The Floor or a director can also set the game of one table, some tables or all tables.

A new level changes the amounts. It never changes the game of a table. The structure has every field that stud and limit games need. It has the small bet, the big bet, the bring-in, the player ante and the stud ante, not only the blinds.

Level 8One clock for the room. Each table plays its own game.

One Event, Four Views

Each Person Sees What They Need

Every screen shows the same event, live. Each role sees its own part of it, and the server checks every right.

The Overview tab on a laptop. It shows the clock and its buttons, the games of this level and the next, and the players, tables and chips.

The Director

The director creates the event, the structure and the payouts. On one page, the director runs the clock and sees every table.

The Registration tab on a laptop: the field, available seats and the players waiting for the desk’s approval.

The Floor

The Floor works the desk on a laptop or a phone. The Floor approves the players, gives the seats and records the rebuys and add-ons.

A dealer’s phone, held sideways at Table 3. It shows the time left, FL Seven-card stud with its amounts, and the button Next Game, Orbit Complete.

The Dealer

A dealer keeps the table open on a phone: the game, its amounts and the players. The dealer busts players out and moves the table to the next game.

A phone held upright at the event: the player’s seat, the time left and the game at their table.

The Player

A player signs up, checks in and finds the seat on the phone. The phone also shows the structure, the rules of each game and the player’s own results.

Features

Everything an Event Needs, in One Place

The Room Clock

A big screen shows the level, the time left, the blinds and the game at each table. It can read each new level aloud.

Structures in a Minute

The calculator makes the levels from your players, your chips and the time you have. Choose Balanced, Turbo, Slow Start or Casino. Then edit any level.

Sign-Up and Check-In

Players sign up in advance and check in from their phone. When the field is full, new signups join the waiting list.

Seats and Tables

PokerSjef gives each player a seat. The Floor moves players, balances the tables and closes them. The final table draws its seats.

Free Events and Prizes

Run a free event for points, give sponsored prizes, or share a prize pool. PokerSjef rounds the prizes to your cash unit, and they always add up to the pool.

Seasons and Leagues

Events count in seasons by date and in the leagues that you choose. Private events do not count. The standings change as players bust out.

Roles and the Audit Log

Five roles: Owner, Director, Floor, Dealer and Player. The audit log records who did what, and when.

For the Players

Each player sees their seat, the structure, the rules of each game and their own results on their phone.

Seasons and Leagues

Standings Without a Spreadsheet

A season counts every event of the club within its dates. A league counts only the events that you choose for it. One event can count in several leagues.

  • Seven ways to score: field-scaled, two logarithmic systems, square root, linear, your own points for each place, or your own formula.
  • Count only the best results of each player, if you want.
  • Before you save a change of scoring, the page shows what the change would do.
  • A rebuy or an add-on never gives a player a second result. Only your own formula can give points for them.
Points for Each PlaceAn event with 12 players and no rebuys, scored with the default system.
  1. 134.64
  2. 229.00
  3. 320.27
  4. 417.11
  5. 514.31
  6. 611.90
  7. 79.85
  8. 88.17
  9. 93.41
  10. 102.48
  11. 111.92
  12. 121.73

The default system counts each player once and each rebuy once. More entries give more points. A club can choose another system for each season and each league.

Built to Be Trusted

A Record the Whole Room Can Rely On

The Server Keeps the Time

Every screen counts down from the server’s clock. The screens agree to the second, also when the clock of a device is wrong.

An Honest Screen Without a Connection

A screen without a connection says that its clock is estimated. Its buttons are grey until the link returns. Nothing that you press goes to the server later.

Records That Never Change

A correction never edits a recorded buy-in, rebuy or prize payment. It adds a new record that points to the original.

Who Did What

The audit log records every action with the person who did it. A director can undo some actions from the log.

No Payments Through PokerSjef

No payment passes through PokerSjef. Cash moves in the room. PokerSjef records the amounts that the desk enters.

Your Data in the EU

The database is in Stockholm, Sweden. PokerSjef uses no advertising cookie, no analytics service and no tracker.
